Working out

The past few days the sun has been shining and really warm here in the Pacific Northwest. I have been taking my little morning workouts outside and it feels great. I brought out the box of shorts that were packed away and boy did I gain a lot of weight over this past winter. Time for a change of diet and a little more vigorous of a workout routine. Today I did 100 squats. Last month I did a 30 day challenge and worked my way up to 250 so doing 100 is a piece of cake and still a workout. I did 3 sets of 20 walking lunges, 50 jumping jacks, 10 girl push-ups, 3 sets of 10 reverse crunches. I am also in the midst of a 30 day plank and I am at 50 secs. I also did 30 secs one arm each plank. It's so nice to do it outside in the fresh air!

Yesterday we went to Costco for a few things.( I know stupid to do on a Saturday on before the fourth but it was amazingly quick...every cashier was on so the lines weren't long at all.) we get to the car and there is a flyer on it with two kids on it. The girl was about 9 and the boy 7. They were dressed like they were ready for a night clubbing. The girl had on makeup and way to much of it with clothes that aren't meant for a little girl. the boy was wearing a skinny jeans with a jacket an no shirt. The looked ridiculous. My husband throws the flyer and says "I would be so embarrassed if that was my company!" I sure did marry a great man!

Billy Burke

I went to high school with Billy Burke. He was one of those cute popular seniors when I was a freshman. He is now an actor, a singer and songwriter. Most recently he played Charlie Swan in the Twilight series. I follow him on twitter and am a friend on facebook. Today he wrote a blog on his website at the end he talked about if the world does end soon like the Mayans predicted he then asked a bunch of questions....

What would you give? I would give my love and my time.
What would you take? More knowlege even though in my belief I will go to heaven and know all I feel like I havent learned enough here on earth!
Where would you go? I would love to go to Hawaii with my husband.
Where would you stay? If the world is ending I'd be staying here with my family all around me even though being in the sunshine is really where I want to be!
Who would you kiss? My husband, my kids, my family!
Who would you punch in the face? not really puncher kind of person so I dont think I would punch anyone...
What laws would you make if the world was ending I wouldnt make any laws. Let people live they want to live and get rid of the power some people think they have because of the laws
(more importantly which ones would you get rid of)? all of the laws except the ten commandments!
Who’s mind would you steal? I kinda like my mind...
What music would be the soundtrack to your departure/arrival? I like all music except for that screaming death metal and rap music that just talks about killing and raping.
C’mon, If you could start from scratch, knowing what you know… how would it be different? What’s “next” for YOU? I pretty much like the life I am living except for the fact that my mom isnt here. I have felt like the last few months my life has been on hold trying to figure out how to live without her but my "next" chapter in life is going to be about being healthy. Eating the right foods. Growing an organic garden, raising chickens, maybe even being daring enough to plant an organic apple orchard. I need to live every day like it's the last. Be good and not stress about little stuff. Make my family happy, try not to yell and be a better parent and wife. We only have one shot at this ride so make it fun and stop to smell the roses!

Memory

OK I admit I am getting older and my memory is a little fuzzy on some details but this morning I realized if I don't write it down it just doesn't happen. If I go to the grocery store without a list written I end up coming home with a bunch of stuff that I really don't know what I am going to do with. I am pretty good at writing things down but yesterday morning a friend called and asked for a ride to the airport at 4:30 am. "Sure," I said but didn't write it down, didn't tell any one and just left my memory to remember it...I mean it wasn't even 24 hours I should be able to remember that! Nope. She called at 4:35 while I was sound asleep and ended up driving herself. I am going to go get her car this afternoon but geez I can't believe that I would completely forget!

The one memory I do have that Jon and I disagree on is that he kissed me first! He says I kissed him but that was back in the day where I never make the first move (now that I am married I am over that!)

Mopping

If there was one chore I could say I hate the most it's mopping. It's such a pain. Mopping to me is like mowing the grass to Jon. It's a chore we both hate to do so he gets the grass and I get the mopping! I really hate to do it when there are people home so it's a pain to get everyone out of the house to do it. It's a chore I know that should be done at least once a week but gets done maybe once a month (if that!) I do a lot of spot cleaning though. Under the kids chairs for sure! Today was a the big day. Got everyone out of the house and to tell you the truth it wasnt all that bad. 50 minutes is what it took without stopping. I was shocked at how much I swept before mopping since I think I am pretty good at keeping up with that but once I got all the chairs and such off the floor and did a big sweep I swear I swept up 2 cups full of crap! The thing that really gets me is when I go over the floors afterwards to dry it all up and how dirty the rags are...after I just mopped! The floors look nice and shiny clean now...hoping it'll stay that way until the big 4 year old party on Saturday!
